Club description

Carne Golf Links was the last links golf course to be designed by the late Eddie Hackett and is now believed by many who have played there to be his greatest challenge. and it can only be described as a hidden gem. Situated on the west coast of Ireland, Carne lies in the splendid sand dunes overlooking Blacksod Bay, the legendary Inis Geidhe and Inis Gluaire Islands and dramatic Achill.

Affording little disturbance to the natural and unspoilt environment that surrounds it, Carne is "everything you could ever ask for from the 1st tee to the 18th green" , - James W. Finnegan

Signature Holes

Hole #17 - 399 meter par 4

A long difficult par 4, probably Eddie Hackett's greatest challenge. The name of the hole means literally Maram or Bent grass of which much abounds on this hole. It can also mean hazardous, burdensome and difficult. Play it and see if you agree !

Hole #16 - 154 meter par 3

A stray shot off the tee might land you in the wild orchids after which the nole is named. Also to the right of the path from the tee is a huge exposed sand dune.
